The Spiritus Mundi Review Summer Workshop Series is a free, online course for young writers globally. The series is open for all writers ages 12-35 and supports them on their writing journey. The program will run from late June-early July.

NAVIGATING THE YOUTH WRITING SPACE

Fellowships, Scholarships, and Workshops: Navigating the Youth Writing Space is a workshop for middle school and high school writers looking to learn about opportunities in youth literary magazines, competitions and more! It is best suited for new/newer entrants into the youth literary space, and will help participants learn about helpful resources to help them grow and be recognized as writers.

YOUR STORY, YOUR WAY: PUTTING THE “C” IN CNF

Whether you hate nonfiction, don’t understand it, or it’s your favorite genre, Your Story, Your Way: Putting The “C” in CNF is the ideal workshop for highschool and college students looking to re-envision what it means to write an essay, memoir, (auto)biography, article, cultural critique, or think piece. Participants will learn how to master the creative nonfiction genre by utilizing elements of fiction, intertextuality, and the forgoing of narrative rules.

VISIONS THROUGH VERSE: A WORKSHOP ON POETIC EXPRESSION

 Visions Through Verse: A Workshop on Poetic Expression is a workshop for high school and collegiate writers/poets looking to learn about how poets describe visions, explore spirituality, and their relationship with the divine. It is best suited for intermediate writers in the literary space who are familiar with poetry, but all are welcome! From the session, participants will be able to write their own spiritual poems that will help broaden and expand their writing portfolio and grow as artists. 

INTRODUCTION TO PROSE

Introduction to Prose is an introductory workshop best suited for writers of any level who are hoping to learn more about  a variety of genres and styles of prose, while also developing their craft in writing short fiction. Participants will read from a selection of flash fiction narratives and will have time to develop their own short stories in class.

A CRASH COURSE ON WRITING A KILLER FIRST CHAPTER

A Crash Course on writing a Killer First Chapter is digital, three day course, course aimed at teenagers and young adults of all skill levels who want to learn how to take their first chapter to the next level. Participants will be taught tips and tricks to capture their audience’s attention that can be applied across a variety of fiction genres.

BECOMING A PRO AT PROSE: A WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG PROSE WRITERS

 This workshop is for teens (ages 12-18) interested in prose writing, regardless of genre, with beginner or intermediate experience. Participants will practice their prose writing skills by going through different elements such as characterization, setting, and narrative voice, and receive guidance and exercises to further their skills and develop their writing style.
